About this Piece
In most of my paintings, I try to use light, gradient and detailing as the real attention grabbers. This piece is no different as it pushes light and colour at the viewer where I attempt to make the focal points of the artwork almost glow. This piece, though centered around a toucan perched on her pedestal relaxes as she has no place in particular to be, focuses on much more; it shows vibrant greens, yellows and blues on the moss of the tree and leaves to the front; the lighting and gradient effects in the background using dark blues to calm this piece and not draw attention away from the main subjects.
