A Day By The Pond

This is a representational watercolour painting of the pond at Usine Ste Madeleine, near the Caroni 1975 Sugar Factory, which ceased operations in 2003. The harmonious blend of green and earthy tones captures the serene atmosphere of the area, even on a hot day. The dark values of the foliage intentionally reflect the history and age of the magnificent trees. The inclusion of the dark solitary figure fishing highlights one of the pond's most popular attractions.
