This painting is a visual representation of a prayer by Abdu’l-Baha, the Son of Baha’u’llah the Founder of
the Baha’i Faith. It begins;
“O God! O God! This is a Broken-winged Bird and his flight is very slow – assist him so that he may fly
toward the apex of prosperity and salvation, wing his way with the utmost joy and happiness throughout
the illimitable space…”
The human grieves for the condition of the world and longs for the promised time when the spiritual
qualities of peace, love, joy and happiness on earth will be dominant.
