A Message To All Young Artists,

We, the Women In Art Organisation Of Trinidad and Tobago (WIAOTT), through the kind sponsorship of National Gas Company (NGC) and under the auspices of The Ministry Of Education, invite you, our Primary School aged children, of Standards one to three, to participate in the WIAOTT Book of National Treasures Colouring Competition This year is the 25th Anniversary of the founding of the Women in Art Organization of Trinidad and Tobago by Mrs. Fraulein Rudder in 1996. In celebration of this milestone, we have produced an e- book with twenty-five full colour images of artwork produced by twenty- five of our national artists, depicting some of our National Treasures. Each image is matched with an outline picture which you can decorate using either a digital or analog form of expression eg, coloured pencils, paint, collage. Our pre-campaign launch shall take place on our website and social media platforms from Thursday November 25th to Friday December 10th 2021, when we shall spotlight the National Treasures featured in this beautiful digital collection as well as the fantastic prizes to be won.

Parents simply choose ONE (1) of the images for your child to get creative with, fill out the consent form at the end of this book, and submit your child’s artwork using the following link:

3 - Select one of the categories based on the image chosen (The category is written under the artist's name)

2. Traditional Characters & Local Heroes

3. National Birds, Flora & Fauna

4. National Festivals, Religious Events and Traditions

5. Local Delicacies & Food

Creativity Competition Judging Criteria:

  • Unique/original interpretation...... 5 points

  • Appropriate selection of materials......5 points

  • Neat application of materials and attention to detail.......5 points

  • (NB -Media must be neatly and completely applied to all blank spaces within the line drawing)

4 -Students must correctly answer three simple questions on the registration form correctly.

5 - Artwork must be submitted by January 25th 2022

Great Prizes To be Won!

The winners shall be notified of their prizes via email on February 25th 2022. The prizes for BOTH Analog and Digital categories shall include:

· 1st prize: a tablet $2000

· 2nd prize; a gift certificate for art materials $1500

· 3rd prize: a gift certificate for art materials $1000

· Honourable Mention in each age group: a gift certificate for art materials $500
